Learn when to stop before you start!Learn when to stop before you start!
Even the best poker player in the world, will have some bad beats on bad days. However, on a good day, the trick to end the day well is to know when to call it quits. This will do a lot of good for your bankroll.
While playing limit poker, it is advisable to quit after you have swung about 40 big bets or more either way. As you know, 40 big bets at limit poker is a lot. So, trying past this stretch may leave you too exhausted to be strategic in your game. Of course, if you are going great guns, then, you can consider it an exception.
The reason that you should quit after this length of play is that you start either tilting or you are probably very tired.
You can know that you are tilting if:
You start thinking all the time that your opponents are bluffing
You really want to call it a day
You would like to get back into the action ASAP
You can know that you may have just played too much if:
You started taking small naps at the table
You played more than 10 ten hours at a stretch
You are not able to pay attention to your opponents
Now that you know when to stop, go ahead and start your game….
