--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One of the great virtues of roulette is that it’s a simple and sexy game of chance. In Europe, roulette has an association with tuxedoes (very “00” 7) and well dressed women flippantly throwing chips onto the emerald green table while watching the ball bounce over the red and black. There is an air of nobility and elegance which makes this game both exciting and beautiful. When you envision the roulette wheel, you envision casino gambling in its most quintessential, stylish guise that works well in the online arena too.
There are many roulette betting strategies, with each one being more complicated and elaborate than the next. We have set out a few hints and tips that should hold you in good stead. We call it the “insert you name” strategy.
1) Always pick European roulette, it has one 0 and gives you a better chance of winning in the long run over American Roulette which two 00, which greatly increases the house edge.
2) Test the waters by betting small amounts. Once you start to get a good run where your block of numbers keeps coming up, or you have had a few banker numbers win, increase your stake. By doing this, if the block comes up again then that will increase your betting bank.
3) Try and play on multi-play Roulette tables. It’s always more fun when playing with others plus it makes you feel easier knowing that there won’t be any favouritism and you’ll most definitely learn more by watching others bet, even picking up a few tips.
4) The Red and black system: Decide on a colour and place the minimum stake. Usually with online casinos it’s $1. Keep backing that colour until it wins doubling your stake every time it loses. For example, $1, $2, $4, $8, $16 etc. When you win your original stake, $1, back the opposite colour and do the same again. Usually on average you win every 3 or 4 times using this system. Watch out for the table maximum, this system doesn’t always work but you can play for hours.
5) Ignore the fads and the many theories regarding Roulette. Don’t get me wrong, it’s very interesting to read peoples systems and then trying them out! There is nothing wrong with that as it’s all down to sheer luck when it comes to Roulette.
6) Try the online demo games offering by an increasing amount of online casinos. These are great because they allow you to try a game and get a feel for the functions before you bet real money on them. You can also practice a betting patter or strategy, or simply take a break from betting and still enjoy playing without the stress of a real-money wager.
7) Never chase losses: This goes for any online casino game. If you have just lost a large sum of money, some people will try and make that money up by making more bets. This is a very reckless form of play and will only lead to losing your money faster.
And remember, the wheel has no memory!

Jack’s Top Tips.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After much deliberation we have finally come to the conclusion that there are too many blackjack strategies and very little time to figure them all out. Every single person we’ve met will tell you about his or her very own strategy. If you look on the internet you'll find millions of sites proclaiming they have THE top strategy. So what's a person to do? Which of the blackjack strategies are worth testing out? These thoughts can preoccupy your days and nights and you’d probably go insane before you determine which of the strategies actually work?
Well fear not! While we do not claim that we have all the answers, we’ll provide you with our top tips based on shear hard graft and years of experience. Once you become more experienced at playing the game, you’ll soon find the strategy that works best for you and learning how to play and win in blackjack only takes a few minutes.
1) The objective of the game is clear cut and simple – to win, your cards must be equal to 21 or be higher than the dealers’.
2) Stand if you hold hard 12 to 16 and the dealer shows 2 to 6. The reason you make this play is because the dealer has a high probability of busting when he shows a small card. Since you would automatically lose if you drew and busted (even if the dealer subsequently busted his hand), you should stand back and let the dealer draw. The only exception to this rule is when you are dealt a 12 and the dealer's upcard is a 2 or 3. In this case you are slightly better off hitting the 12 versus standing.
3) Hit if you hold hard 12 to 16 and the dealer shows a 7 or higher.
4) Always split pairs of Aces and 8's.
5) Never split 10s, jacks/queens/kings (faces), 5s or 4s. When you are dealt a pair of 5s you have a 10. It is better to treat the hand as a 10 rather than break it up into two hands of five. Likewise if you are dealt a pair of 10's, you most likely have a winning hand so never split 10s.
6) Start by betting the table minimum. Increase the size of your bet after every win and go back to your minimum bet when you lose a hand. Overall, you'll have more losing than winning rounds, that's why winning blackjack players follow a sensible betting progression.
Congratulations! Your odds just got better.
Change to Ch-Ching: Hints and Tips for Online Slots.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OK, maybe you don't get to feel the slot machine handle in your hand, but when you play online slots you don't have to put up with hordes of people pushing into you to get past, the ear splitting noise level, or the person next to you spilling his drink on your lap while swearing at the machine. You don’t even have to travel miles of the privilege! Online slots are hot and you can win lots of money without ever leaving the comfort of your own home.
Most online gambling sites will have a multitude of slot games, from multi-line slots, progressive slots, video slots and bonus slots. Additionally, they’ll have online slot club cards where you can earn prizes and bonuses just for playing. Take for example The Hulk slots game, the bonus rounds allow you to smash and blow up tanks and helicopters (excellent graphics) much like a video game and the bonus jackpot at the end is pretty good too. Online slot games also offer some of the best payouts available anywhere including Las Vegas casinos.
Although it’s a game of chance, with no skill required to win, you can increase your odds of winning if you play strategically. So here are this month’s top tips on how to increase your luck.
1) Before playing any online slots game find slot machines that you have read the rules, understand it and play them. Don't play any online slots game you see. Learn what slots appeal to you and stick with them. We all have favourites - that's part of the fun.
3) Match your wallet to the slot games. Don’t spend more than you can truly afford.
4) Build up your bank roll with fixed payout slots. Unless your bankroll is strong to start off with don't play on the progressives straight away. Start on a fixed payout slot one which has a lower jackpot but has a better payout structure on smaller wins.
5) You should choose a machine based on your priorities for playing. If you’re looking for a humungous payout, then look to play the Progressive Slots but remember that in progressive jackpot slot machines, you are usually only eligible to win the jackpot if you play the maximum number of coins for each spin. Should you wish to play over a long period and be happy with smaller winnings, choose slots with a small Jackpot, a good Pay-table offering and a nice range of small to medium payouts.
6) One of the best online slots strategy is to participate in online slot machine tournaments. Slot tournaments are very popular these days and you can find them at small and large online casinos around the world.
Have Fun!
Tips to Increase Your Odds at Progressive Jackpots.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Progressive jackpots are the highest payoff games around. Primarily part of the video poker and slots gaming family, with a little skill and a helping hand from Lady Luck everyone has an equal chance at a big payout. The possibility that a small wager can turn into a huge payday is what makes progressive jackpots so exciting. These games have an excellent payout rate for regular play that is separate from the jackpot. The jackpot is merely the icing on the cake - an extra incentive. Think of it as a regular game with a little added flavour.
A progressive Jackpot usually has a jackpot that builds as more people play the casino’s progressive machines. The first person to hit the winning combination (e.g in a game such as Rags to Riches) will win the total jackpot. But, to help give Lady Luck a little nudge in the right direction, here are some inside tips and hints on playing progressive jackpots:
1. Before inserting the coin, take a moment to read all the posted material on a slot machine. You should understand all information concerning the number of coins to insert, winning combinations of symbols, payouts or awards, because the most important skill to playing slots is machine identification. Intelligent players always look for the best slot opportunities possible.
2. Play at casinos that advertise the best payback percentages. These casinos are eager for your business and are willing to reward you with better payouts.
3. If you're playing a progressive machine, remember that you should bet the maximum number of coins to be eligible to win the big jackpot.
4. There is some truth that the higher the denomination, the better the payback. But if you can't afford to play the maximum amount of coins, you shouldn't be playing that denomination of machine. If pound slots are too rich for your bankroll, find a pence machine.
5. Slow down your play. The faster you play, the better it is for the casino; the slower you play, the better it is for you.
6. If you’re playing Slots, set a loss limit on your bankroll for each gaming session and don't exceed that limit. Discipline yourself and stick to it.
7. Never underestimate luck, It is the biggest factor when you play any game of chance.
We hope these simple advises will help you to have fun gambling.
Bet with your head, not with your heart!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
by: Buzz Daly That misguided but seemingly irreproachable sports betting mantra has been repeated so often, it has become a major league clichי. But unlike most clichיs, this one is grounded in fanciful flawed presumptuousness rather than in reality. Aided by the off shore gaming phenomenon, wagering on sports has become a national obsession, particularly during football, and now extending into the college basketball season. The intensity of trying to pick winners has reached epic proportions. We are bombarded with pitches from touts who claim amazing winning records, and who, for the cost of just a few pence, and out of the goodness of their hearts, will share their priceless information with us. Aiding and abetting this commercialism is the pressure today’s society brings to bear as “losers” are sneered at and looked down upon with scorn. Against this backdrop, a bettor who wishes to place a few quid on his alma mater, which has a hapless record straight up and against the spread, is made to feel like a fool for such an indulgence. Enough already. The emphasis on winning a bet has gotten out of hand. Have we become so competitive and such bottom line worshippers, that the simple pleasure of backing a favorite team despite its slim chance of winning our bet puts a dunce cap on our heads? Mind you, we’re not advocating a steady diet of foolhardy or sucker plays. But we are suggesting that the highly disciplined approach to betting that a professional brings to the table is not a reasonable working model for most of us. We who do not pay our rent/mortgage with profits from betting action need to observe a different set of criteria, ones that reflect a more realistic attitude about where gambling fits in our lifestyle. Betting on sports is fun– yes, we concede that winning is more fun than losing – but the experience is just as important as the result. Believe it or not, for the vast majority of bettors who have a life, the penalties for losing are generally not catastrophic. For some reason, basketball brings out tendencies in bettors to back a team close to their heart. Jimmy Vaccaro, who ran race and sports book operations for the Mirage Hotel & Casino back in the ‘80s and early ‘90s, once observed that “squares love to bet on baskets, especially their alma mater or home town team.” He said it without malice or trying to put anyone down. Betting and watching a game has entertainment value, and assuming the amount wagered is consistent with a person’s finances, the cost of losing should be no more burdensome than buying another stamp for your collection, or adding a ski jacket to your wardrobe. Somewhere along the line, the wrong stuff has influenced bettors. Don’t feel guilty if the joy of your team winning supersedes the joy of winning money. A few years ago, during the height of March Madness, I was at the Stardust sports book. A contingent of fans from Minnesota were there rooting on the heavily underdog Gophers. Only a few had bets on the game, and these were of the petty cash variety. When their team won on a last second basket, the group spontaneously erupted into an a cappella rendition of the Golden Gophers fight song. The wizened, jaded crowd throughout the book looked up in stunned silence. Jaws dropped as the denizens who frequent the ‘Dust on a regular basis just sat and listened. Then, amazingly, at the conclusion of the song, the rest of the book’s patrons spontaneously broke into loud applause. Even those who lost betting against Minnesota took part. So for all those who bet on alma maters with no chance, here are a few thoughts that should bring some comfort. * The best causes are lost causes. * Man’s reach should always exceed his grasp. *Don’t feel guilty betting with your heart instead of your head. There are no guarantees either way. * * * * * Even casual basketball bettors can improve their chances of winning by becoming more effective handicappers. This does not mean devoting long hours crunching numbers, or painstakingly creating and updating your own power ratings. It means realizing that the season is long, and teams are subject to cycles in which they can be terrific as well as mediocre. A variety of factors come into play such as injuries, academic ineligibles, transfers, or a personal crisis for a key player. These are just some of the mitigating factors that affect team performance. Winning bettors know what to look for. The small extra effort they make is not labor intensive and the payoff is worth it .The following contains five relatively easy handicapping approaches designed to help recreational players reduce the house edge. * Look for team chemistry. You can see it when you watch a game. Does a team routinely execute the give-and-go or the ally-oop? Does a player come back to help the man inbounding the ball when he gets pressure? Talent alone does not translate into a winning record. Most successful squads have at least one player who sacrifices his game for the good of the team. Zero in on a few squads that have this chemistry, and start cashing some tickets. * Intensity in playing defense. Great teams all have a common denominator, the ability to play defense. Offense sometimes doesn’t travel well, but defense does. You can easily spot these teams. When you watch a game on TV or in person, pay attention to a team trying to shut down a high scoring player. Do they stop him without giving up easy points to the rest of the squad? Can they play defense without committing fouls. The answers to these questions can be found in a quick scan of box scores. Most importantly, defense can pull out a win when shooters take a night off. * Tough non-conference schedule. Unlike football with its 11- or 12-game season, basketball teams play a grueling schedule climaxing with a conference slate as the season comes to a close. Winners are battle-tested and possess the stamina to compete and prevail. The best teams toughen up by playing a formidable non-conference schedule. Playing on the road, dealing with hostile fans and other distractions give a team the seasoning needed to shine during the conference schedule, playoffs, and ideally the NCAA Tournament. * Great coaching. Today’s successful coaches are a well-known group. They represent top programs whose players trust them and believe in their ability to lead their team to greatness. You’ll find them at Duke, North Carolina, UNLV, Arizona, Michigan, to name a few. The best way to track coaches whose teams offer preferred betting options is to monitor their ATS (against the spread) records. Top coaches consistently do better than expected.
Gambling Guide: The Full Terms and Conditions
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Being the Editor of Gambling Online Magazine, I have had the privilege of communicating with several hundred of online casino operators and several thousands online casino players. Players write me with questions, problems, fears, and recommendations on what it would take to make online gambling even better.
But one of the toughest parts of this job is dealing with players who have been disgruntled by their casinos, either through a clear-cut mistake or a through a misunderstanding. Mistakes are easily resolved. I’ll often write a letter to the casino on the player’s behalf expressing his circumstance, and the casino simply checks its records and presents me with a transaction log of the issue in question. There lies the answer in plain black and white, which then results in the player getting the money owed, or the player accepting his mistake.
But the second scenario, where there is a misunderstanding, is infinitely more difficult to resolve, but at the same time is very easy to avoid. Oftentimes casinos either neglect to post their full terms and conditions regarding game rules or, more commonly, on special offers. When this happens players often think they’ve qualified for offers or bonuses, only later to find that they’ve missed out.
Here are a few recommendations for players and casinos that will put an end to the confusion and will result in everyone having better time online.
Players:
• There is no such thing as an unconditional offer.
• Read the fine print in either the “Rules”, “Terms and Conditions” or “Bonuses” section of the website.
• Contact the casino’s customer service team to confirm your understanding of the rules.
• Expect that bonuses require you to wager at least 100% of the value of the bonus before you qualify to receive that bonus.
• To qualify for a bonus it doesn’t matter if you win or you lose.
• Referral bonuses often count only when the person you have referred deposits money into a casino account.
• If you usually only play to the minimum requirements to get a bonus you will be classed a “bonus taker” and the casino may have the right to refuse payment.
Casinos:
• Post your conditions clearly in the advertisement with your offer.
• Have a dedicated page on your website explaining the conditions of your offer.
• Be sure to update your “terms and conditions” page each time you create a new offer or promotion.
• Educate your customer relations team about any changes to your terms and conditions.
• Set up a system to handle misunderstandings between your casino and your players that will not only effect a resolution, but will have the leniency to keep your players satisfied and coming back.
• Always treat players like VIPs- take a lesson from Las Vegas or Atlantic City if you have forgotten how.
Casino Payment Preferences
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In any online industry, sustainable and reliable payment mechanisms are the key factor for a business’ success. Online gaming firms, above almost all others, know how important it is to offer safe, accurate, simple and consistent online payment options. Safe and accurate payment instruments are easy to come by, with almost all of them using 128-bit encryption and being run on hardware with 100% redundancy. The difficulty seems to be finding payment mechanisms that are simple and consistent.
Simple online payment systems should process your orders quickly successfully and without much in the way of buyer interaction beyond the standard card number, name and address. However, many online gamblers are finding that depositing into casino accounts with credit cards is no longer that simple. Some casinos ask for faxed verification of a player’s identity before processing credit card transactions, and in many cases, credit card purchases get rejected despite the cardholder having plenty of “credit” left on their card.
When a valid card gets rejected by an online casino, it is because of one of two reasons. Either has to do with the risk profile of the deposit, or the position of the card issuing bank on online gaming purchases.
When the card is rejected because of the risk profile of the purchase it is usually due to either abnormal purchasing behavior or the geographic location of the purchaser (normally rejection occurs when the cardholder tries to make an online purchase from outside their country of residence). The purchase rejection is thus a cardholder protection mechanism, set up to stop a thief from using a stolen card. These type of rejections can generally be rectified by a call to the cardholder’s bank, verifying the intent of the purchase.
The other main of credit card rejection is the credit card issuing bank’s position on online gaming transactions. Unfortunately, in this situation a call to your credit card issuer wont get your purchase authorized, and the cardholder must use another card, or an alternative payment mechanism, to complete the deposit. The issue arises because all online gaming businesses are required by the credit card companies to designate their online gaming transactions with the code ‘7995’. 7995 tells the credit card company that the purchase requested is an online gaming transaction, and in many cases that transaction gets rejected without hesitation. The bank’s rather myopic position on online gaming transactions stems in-part from their fear that the purchase may be disputed at a later date by the card-holder. In practice, online gamblers rarely dispute their gaming deposits because they quickly get blacklisted from gambling online if they should ever decide to welsh on their bet. Being blacklisted means that the online gambler would find it VERY hard to open a new account at any online casino or sportsbook.
What is important to remember is that in both cases, your online casino isn’t rejecting your credit card, your issuing bank (the company that issued you your card) is.
Issuing Banks will most likely maintain their position on online gaming transactions until states begin offering online gaming within their own boarders. Until that time online gamblers are encouraged by casinos and sportsbooks to utilize the many alternative ‘non-credit card’ payment options available at their sites. The most popular of these online alternatives is Neteller, PrePaid ATM, ACH, 900 Pay, FirePay, Gaming Card and EcoCard.
Using any of these popular online payment mechanisms will help you avoid rejected deposits, and will ensure that you have a online gaming payment option with longevity. Additionally, many of these payment methods are less expensive than credit cards for your casino to process than credit cards and many casinos pass these savings on to players in the form of additional bonuses for using one payment method over another.
Not Recommended Casinos
The "Not Recommended" casinos are just that, they are casinos that are not recommended because of substandard customer service, poor support, bad bonus terms, and questionable business practices. Simply stated - these are casinos that you should avoid until they have corrected these malfunctions.

Fake Watchdog Sites
The are a number of casino operators that feel that their players need to be deceived into believing their casinos are a safe place to play. Some of them have set up "watchdog" sites that claim to be monitoring the fairness of their operation thus giving themselves a "stamp of approval". This is deception in the lowest form and borders on the criminal. Other organizations were formed in good faith, but over the years have become indifferent, apathetic, and flacid.
Sometimes casinos that display logos from the following sites are unaware of the "ruse" they are playing a part of. Obviously, they didn't do their research, or perhaps they think that the logos look pretty. Nevertheless, casinos that display logos from the following organizations should be avoided.

Past Issues
Being "rogued" at blackjake.net is a serious issue in the online casino community. The reason for the rogue section was mainly a "name and shame" method used to either convince casino operators to do the right thing, or to warn players of devious deeds. Over the past several years, there have been some casinos that have been removed from "Rogue" or "Not Recommended Section". In most cases it was because the business ceased to exist, but in some instances, the operators saw the light and realized that improvements needed to be made in the way they operated.
"Turning over a new leaf" is a good thing. In fact, I wish that every operator "rogued" would just listen up and realize that deception, unfairness, crappy customer service, and unethical behavior is unnecessary to do well in this business. Changing business methods or modifying one's own behaviour is a hard thing to do, but when operations do so because of this "Rogue" section, I see it as a good thing; the "Rogue Section" is successful when it allows casinos to move on.
Also, there have been misunderstandings between me and the operators (or owners) of some of these casino groups. These are detailed in some of the following links.
Regardless, I feel that it is important that players are aware of past issues. No need to sweep dust under the rug. Some operations have a "history" that players ought to know about so that they can make intelligent decisions on their own.
Casinos to Avoid
Moonlight Island Casino Blacklisted for excessive forum spamming tactics and various other blog spamming and board spamming. Their site looks terrible and you can't tell whether they are legitimate operators or not. Stay clear of this operation.
CasinoMan's Verdict: Avoid this casino completely.
Hi Roller Casino For excessive spamming and email fraud, this supposed online casino has been blacklisted for their unscrupulous bad marketing tactics.
CasinoMan's Verdict: Avoid this casino completely.
888 Casino Also known as Casino-On-Net and various other names, are all owned and operated by 888 Holdings Plc, the largest online casino company in the world. They are publicly listed on the London Stock Exchange, so you might wonder why they are being blacklisted, not only here, but lately they are being shunned and blacklisted all over the Internet.
The reasons for this are simply, they have internal teams who practice black techniques in search marketing, namely site scraping, blog spamming and prolific use of other spam techniques. They are doing this both internally, and turning a blind eye to affiliates who do this too.
For a publicly listed company to be doing this, is wholly unacceptable. It tarnishes the image of the industry, punishes good affiliates, and is simply bad practice for any company. They top this blacklist for now, until they decide to take action against these types of activities.
CasinoMan's Verdict: Don't play here until they assume the correct position in the market, as leaders, and stop poor marketing tactics.
Windows Casino This is one of the oldest Realtime Gaming casinos, however their advertising practices are somewhat crude and often break the boundaries of customer privacy.
We've had a few complaints about their honesty as well and as an operator, this makes them untrustworthy. Windows Casino also features multiple skins, all of which also operate with dodgy tactics.
Known skins: Royal Flush Casino, Golden Palms Casino
CasinoMan's Verdict: Avoid this casino group completely.
Casinobar Their software is well known throughout the industry to cheat players. In blackjack they were caught dealing seconds, and we must urge you to avoid all their casinos, including Casino-on-air.
CasinoMan's Verdict: Avoid this casino group completely.
Golden Palms Casino Avoid this at all costs, it seems to be a mirror site of Windows casino, but their unresponsive support, and non-issuing of their deposit promotions has meant that we've heard complaints about them.
CasinoMan's Verdict: Don't play, promised bonuses are not rewarded.
Play And Deal Strange business model and practices. Advertising methods seems to be somewhat misleading. Also their customer service is very poor and needs a lot of attention.
CasinoMan's Verdict: Don't play at this casino.
Casinos with Warnings
Casino Extreme We've had mixed feedback about this casino. Although the bulk of it seems to point towards a very poor customer service team.
There are also reports that this casino takes a long time to payout and will sometimes create reasons to refuse payout's.
CasinoMan's Verdict: Play at your own risk.
Casino.net Be wary of this online casino as we have received reports of strange behaviour in some of their games.
CasinoMan's Verdict: Play, but be careful and keep your eyes open for irregularities.
Golden Nile Casino Formerly known as Golden Comps Casino. This casino has not had a good reputation for quite sometime. Their actions are not unscrupulous, it's just that people say they take forever to deal with enquiries and to payout winners.
CasinoMan's Verdict: Play at your own risk.
Casinomill Bingo This online bingo hall is on this list for using spam email tactics in their marketing.
CasinoMan's Verdict: Do not play here unless you want to endorse spam email tactics.
Rochester Casino This online casino has some questionable marketing practices. We have heard of complaints about lack of support, and we have noticed also that one method of their marketing seem to be forum spamming.
CasinoMan's Verdict: Do not play here, unrecognised casino operators and undeterminable security.
Green Table Casino This operation has reportedly ripped off the entire design from Casino Tropez and stuck their own logo on the design. This is almost certainly a scam and we recommend you do not play here.
CasinoMan's Verdict: Do not play here, unrecognised casino operators and undeterminable security.

The Big ' Little Known' Fact List Of Gambling
Here at GamblingPhD, when it comes to online gambling we are firm believers that the more you now, the less money you blow! With this in mind, we have come up with a complete list of little known facts that are sure to be helpful when making decisions during any online gambling session and every trip you take to a land casino.
Listed below is an interesting compilation of little known - or slightly off kilter facts that we are sure you will find amusing if not helpful in winning lots of cash when gambling. Enjoy!
- While no one is really sure where the die or dice originated, it is largely believed by many that old-time witch doctors, for entertainment, used to toss the knucklebones of sheep (yup, and they even have four sides) or cows to see which side they would land on. Then it is believed that the Greeks enhanced this pass time by adding markings to the bones and playing a game similar to the dice game we know now. After that, the Greeks passed it on to the Romans, who ate them -just kidding! Really, when the Romans got a hold of the idea, they are believed to have evolved the dice into wooden or stone cubes having six sides. Some where even made from teeth (we won't speculate who's) and ivory. These days, dice are made of colored plastic, the dots on them now indicated numbers, and they are tossed two at a time!
- The 52-card deck of playing cards we know today are a direct descendant of the cards first made in France, way back in the 1400's. At that time, it is said that the deck contained four suits. Each suit had 13 cards, plus four wild cards. Each suit represented one of the four classes in French society. For instance, ranked highest, hearts represented the church. Next, spades represented the army. Diamonds were said to represent merchants. Lastly, clubs represented farmers and peasants alike.
Later on, the English were said to have taken the credit for making an improvement to playing cards by printing the suit and rank at the top AND bottom of the cards. This way, players were able to read their cards much easier. For example, they no longer had to arrange the cards or tip them upside-down in order to read them easily.
- There really is a lot of Psychology involved in gambling, at least as far as the casino is concerned. For instance, when you arrive at any gambling table and want to gamble, the first thing you do is lay down the money you want to bet with, the dealer then gives you chips that represent your cash. It is much easier for dealers to collect bets and make payouts with these chips than is is to use actual money. Plus, psychologically, players are way more likely to blow off the fact that they just lost a piece of plastic than they would if a one hundred dollar bill changed hands at the end of a hand! We are not likely to regard the (always) brightly colored chips as our hard earned money! Quite simply, we are likely to wager more each hand as well. Come on, the free cocktails are flowing too!
- When was the last time you walked into a casino that had carpeting in one solid color? Oh yes, I mean that wild pattern on the carpet is there for a reason folks. The ceiling is pretty boring too. This is because the casino wants you to focus on the table and the game. When you are sitting there (or even walking though) you look at the busy carpet, yuck, then your eyes wander to the boring ceiling. There you have it, you don't want to look at the carpet too long - or the ceiling. This way, you are more likely to focus on gambling!.
Even the positioning of the slots and tables are taken into serious consideration when designing a casino properly.
- Recently, a twenty year study of casino design showed that areas in casinos with lower ceilings created much more traffic. Yes, it is now known that areas in the casino with a more intimate vibe make gamblers feel (subconsciously) more at ease, causing them to stick around longer and spend more money! I guess that explains why the last time I was in MGM Grand, no one was playing in the huge domed-roof area just inside the main entrance where all these slot machines were positioned. It is such a beautiful area and the slots were always vacant. Not to worry MGM Grand, there where plenty of people playing in the areas with lower ceilings. Imagine the revenue they could be generating if the area was renovated. The price we pay for beauty.

Online Gambling Tip of the Day
The Best Tip Ever
This is probably one of the most basic things you need to understand about online casinos. Do your research. This simple tip truly is the best tip if you think about it. No player is a great player until they research the game they want to play first. If you are playing at casinos on line (not the free games) you are trying to win money. Yes, entertainment is a consideration, but isn't that what the free games are for? Of course we all want to have fun when playing, but to win money you have to know what you are doing - at all times. Researching your game of choice before laying your cash on the line is imperative. We are talking about the winnable games, too. Choose a beatable game, or at least one that has better odds. Research and you will be in control. Successful online gambling demands that you know what you are in for ahead of time.
Detecting Bluffs
While it is understood that playing poker at online casinos makes it harder to determine when players are bluffing. There are signs to look for at online casinos that may let you know if your opponent is bluffing. Casinos online now provide chat rooms where you can talk to players as you play them live. Look for chatty players becoming quite, delays in wagering, time outs and more. These types of behavior are tells - hints players may or may not be giving up voluntarily that will let you know if they are bluffing and more. Even though you can't tell if your opponent is sweating, you can notice other things about there game play that can let you know what you are up against. Be sure that you are able to notice any changes in your opponent's game play and be able to remember theses changes in order to compare them to the hands they end up with. This is a simple but necessary move on your part. When online gambling, be sure to remember how each player bets with and without good hands - this will help you figure out if they are bluffing and more.

Online Casino Exclusion of Players - 10/19/2006 10:14:14 AM
Many of our members from the U.S.A have been struggling to find a casino which will still accept them as a player. This is particularly so for members who live in certain states within the U.S.A. Mainly affected states include Indiana, Illinois, Louisiana, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Nevada, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington State and Wisconsin.
Online Casinos for U.S. based players with State Exemptions
Federal Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) was signed by US President Bush on Friday, October 13th. This act does not prohibit playing at online casinos and most players can still play from thier homes, if other specific law in their States allow such an activity. The law prohibit accepting money from US residents by banks and gambling sites (offshore Internet casinos and poker card rooms). There are reasons to believe that it may be illegal to gamble online in: Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Nevada, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington, Michigan, New York, New Jersey and Wisconsin. The residents of these states are advised NOT to gamble at online casinos and poker rooms.
Below is a list of Internet casinos which accept players from the United States, excluding those who live in Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Nevada, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington, Michigan, New York, New Jersey and Wisconsin. These online casinos feature Microgaming and OddsOn Gaming software plus proprietary software (Slotland casino).
